Peter Lewis was born in Manchester. Moved to Dyfed, Wales in 1948.

1959-61 Served in the Intelligence Section of the Welsh Regiment

1961-64 Post Graduate, Royal College of Art

1965-68 Awarded Fellowship in Fine Art at Nottingham University

1968-70 Awarded Harkness Foundation Fellowship in the USA

Taught at St. Martins School of Art and Central School of Art, London.
